• The power of microscopes can be calculated by following the formula:
(Power of objective lens) x (Power of eyepiece) = Total power of microscope.
For example: (40x objective lens) x (WF10x eyepiece) = Total power of 400x
• It is recommended to begin observations at a lower power providing a bright, clear image. A higher power will provide a closer image, but may suffer from a narrowing field of view giving a darkened image. For 600x or greater, we suggest a scope with a built in illuminator such as our MSL Series.
