KD-2 Motorized Panning Mount
We gave our standard telescope mount a new base-plate assembly. We listened when a few of you said that it isn’t always possible or practical to remove the KD Mount from the tripod out in the field shooting unpredictable subjects. We added extra thickness to the base-plate and ran 3 bolts up into the upper housing, replacing the 3 screw assembly of the telescope mount. Even with this new assembly we don't advise leaving the camera or tripod attached to the KD-2 ... but sometimes you gotta run ... quickly.
The new KD-2 is not mass produced but is assembled per order and may take from 7-10 days before shipment. Shipping weight comes in at 2800 gms (2.8 kilo) from the 2650 gm original, but there is no increase in shipping fees. All well worth the wait.

This inexpensive unit offers simple, smooth, tremor-free operation comparable to far more expensive units with similar functionality. The KD-Mount comfortably supports weights up to 2.5 kilograms and with basic care and operation within weight limits, the KD-Mount is rugged enough to chase the action with you for years on the road.
The controller, attaches to the KD-Mount with a 1.5-meter-length cable, and allows 2 axial drive modes of up and down movement and full 360⁰ rotation at two speeds; 1 or 0.2 degrees per second.
The KD-Mount connects at its aluminum base-plate using a universal 1/4-inch bolt on any standard camera tripod head.
Attach your camera to the KD-Mount top by either of two retractable 1/4-inch bolts.
The unit is powered by DC 12V drive and comes with a battery box for 8 (eight) UM3 or AA standard-sized 1.5 volt batteries and soft carry case.
Shipment (2.65 kg for KD / 2.8 kg for KD-2 in total) includes Mount, Controller, Cable and Battery Box with Soft Carry Case.
